Assessment method

How your WorkLens result is calculated.

Method version: 1.2 · Last reviewed: 6 October 2026

The short versionThe assessment has 20 questions and takes about 3 minutes. It is a structured self-reflection tool, not a clinical, psychometric, legal or employment test.

What the 20 questions cover

There are four questions in each of five workplace areas: workload, boundaries, management, recognition and growth. You answer each statement from Never to Very often.

How scoring works

  1. Each response receives a pressure value from 0 for “Never” to 4 for “Very often.”
  2. The 20 values are added. The maximum reported-pressure total is 80.
  3. WorkLens converts that total to a 0–100 score. Higher scores mean you reported the pressure signals less often.
  4. Each category is calculated separately from its four questions. The category with the most reported pressure becomes the first area shown for reflection.
Overall score = 100 − (reported pressure ÷ 80 × 100), rounded to the nearest whole number.

What the result means

The result reflects your answers at one point in time. It helps compare the five areas inside your own response; it does not prove that a workplace is healthy or unhealthy, identify the cause of distress, predict an outcome or compare you with a clinical population.

Important limits

How AI is involved

The score itself is deterministic: the same 20 answers produce the same overall and category scores. WorkLens uses structured rules to select the first area, actions and report sections. AI may assist with drafting, translation and editorial improvement, but it does not change your score, diagnose a condition, predict an employment outcome or make a decision for you.

Benchmarks and responsible interpretation

Benchmark participation is optional and requires explicit consent. Aggregates appear only after at least 20 responses meet the selected grouping. Contributors are self-selected, so results describe participating WorkLens users and must not be presented as workforce-wide statistics. Future data-backed articles will state the sample, period, grouping and this limitation.

Privacy, retention and deletion

You can complete the free assessment without an account. Free answers stay in your browser unless you explicitly contribute to the benchmark or purchase a report. Order information is retained as needed to deliver purchases, provide support, prevent fraud and meet legal or accounting requirements. To request access, correction or deletion, email worklens@hotmail.com; eligible data will be deleted or anonymized, while limited transaction records may need to be retained. See the privacy policy for details.

What WorkLens does - and does not doWorkLens supports workplace reflection, conversations and decisions. It does not diagnose mental-health conditions, determine fitness for work, predict promotion or dismissal, or tell you whether you must stay or leave.
